Should I Have A Hair Transplant Now?Posted by doctorwong on October 9th, 2009
Hi! I’m 23 years old. I have been facing hair loss for the last 3yrs and now my head at the corners and even at mid scalp is becoming noticeably thin. I have been taking treatment for the last 2 years (6 months from a small private skin specialist, 1 yr in Dr. —– hair clinic, now taking RichFeel). I’ve noticed hardly any improvement. Although the hair loss has been reduced as the hair density also has been degraded to a great extent. Should I go for hair transplantation at this age or should I continue medication and treatment for some more time?

Hello H.K.
If you are not taking finasteride as one of your treatments, you should start now. If you are presently taking finasteride and you feel your hair loss has stabilized, you may be a surgical candidate. I’d suggest waiting a year after taking finasteride before considering hair transplant surgery. Feel free to submit a online hair loss consultation form. You will receive a recommendation in 3-5 business days. Please be sure to
follow our photo guidelines.
