Hair Transplant Costs: How Do Patients Afford It?Posted by admin (on behalf of the doctor) on July 17th, 2009
Dear Doctor Hasson, First I’d like to say I really appreciate your informative website. It has helped out a lot. My question is: how does someone that doesn’t make a lot of money afford a hair transplant? I’ve read about a number of people that have had multiple hair transplant surgeries, some of these people appear to be younger. I was just wondering how they afford to keep coming back. Surely not all of these people have great paying jobs. I’m not sure if my question can even really be answered but I thought it was worth a try. Thanks!

Thanks for the question. You are right that younger patients may not have the earning power of mature patients, but they do find ways of paying for surgery. Many younger patients will do a combination of things: financing (there is hair transplant financing available through several private lenders), credit cards, personal lines of credit, and sometimes even a little help from Mom and Dad. A bank personal line of credit seems to be a good means (lower interest rates than credit cards or other types of loans). Although I don’t manage the financial affairs of our patients, our office staff might be able to provide more insight than I have. I hope I’ve answered your question. If you have any further questions, don’t hesitate to contact Hasson & Wong Hair Transplant Clinic.
