Hair Transplant Temple Touch-Up

I am 30 years old and had a strip surgery for mainly temples/frontal area when I was 23. The result was very good. But 7 years later there was some thinning on the the temples area. The overall result is still great since I am also on propecia. I think that I need some minor touch-ups (500-900 grafts) in the temples area instead of a big session. I want to save for the future. Is strip surgery recommended for minor touch-ups? What is the best option? Thank you in advance. — L.G.

Thanks for the question. For minor touch-ups, strip surgery works as well as it does for megasessions, especially if the patient already has a scar from a previous surgery. If a patient feels that a strip surgery is out of the question for whatever reason, FUE for a small procedure is an option as long as the patient understands it’s limitations. Depending on the type of donor hair, the FUE result may produce a lower yield and require more touch-ups to achieve the desired result. Ultimately we feel the strip would be the way to go for most patients. Based on what little information we have, we would also conclude that the strip is your best option.
